Prosecutors find breaches at 6 mining firms after smoke kills 52

KEMEROVO, Nov 26 (PRIME) – The Russian prosecutors found violations at six companies after smoke killed 52 people in the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo Region, the authority said in a statement on Friday.

The companies violated safe mine use, worker rest and safety device provision rules, and safety instruction measures.

Preliminary data say a methane explosion caused the smoke emission at Listvyazhnaya, part of the SDS-Ugol company, one of Russia’s top-3 coal producers.
